MAAK, in collaboration with the KAM’s Automotive Sector engaged NTSA to discuss historical challenges and chart the way forward, on11th September 2023. MAAK and NTSA Technical convened a follow up meeting on 30th October with the Director of Registration and Licensing to address pending challenges.



Industry Visits to Part Manufacturers

 The Motorcycle Assemblers Association of Kenya (MAAK) was part of a delegation comprising ofthe Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investments (MITI); Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM); and Associaion of Part Manufacturers(APMA) conducted industry visits to key part manufacturers. These include Pipeman Limited, Megh Cushion Industries Limited, Auto Springs E.A Limited, Mutsimoto Limited, and Unifilter Limited.

The purpose of the visits were to assess the status of localization for 14 parts and components. The delegation acknowledged assemblers’ strong commitment to supporting local part manufacturers. They also identified critical challenges faced by assemblers, particularly low production volumes and technical challenges in parts development.
